MARCH'S SPOTLIGHT IS ON OUR ENGINEER: ANTON SVÄRD
Anton’s journey started back in 2020 when he joined us as an intern in our Service Desk. He had two internship periods planned, and spent both of them with us, stating that “it was a no-brainer”.
After his internship was over, he was offered a full-time position as a Support Technician.
His main responsibilities were answering tickets, troubleshooting, and working with on-site support within Infrastructure (and areas such as 365, Citrix and Endpoint).
With a hunger to continue developing technically, Anton started taking different certifications in the Microsoft Collaboration sphere. At Xenit, we are adamant that our employees start their development track from day one, and Anton was more than happy to oblige. In December 2022, Anton received Xenit’s Ambassador award for Brilliance, for all of his hard work 🏅
(An infamously camera shy man, you might spot him here lingering at the back...)
2023 brought a new adventure, when Anton and a few colleagues started a new team, "Service Operations". This team was a little more advanced than Service Desk, with a focus on automation, and an aim to aid Xenit’s specialist teams in their daily work.
At this time, Anton had the opportunity to become Team Leader for Service Desk & Ops. His main responsibilities were to assist the team in daily planning, help to set goals, to act as a mentor, and to continuously improve Xenit’s way of working (to ensure that the team could evolve in their roles). 👨🏻🏫
Now, Anton is an Engineer within Service Operations, and is working towards his next promotion to Specialist Engineer.
As an Engineer, his tasks are varied, and require a “knowledgeable generalist” to handle them. Anton spends his days setting up & configuring infrastructure in Azure, handling emergency changes due to CVE (common vulnerabilities and exposures), making health checks on Azure, M365 and Citrix environments (according to MS guidelines), and handling certificates on Exchange servers etc.
He has come a long way in the “almost four years” he’s been with us, and we are excited for what else he will achieve. Thanks, Anton! 👏🏻
