FEBRUARY'S SPOTLIGHT IS ON SERVICE SPECIALIST: JOSEFIN BOMAN
Josefin began her career in IT with us here at Xenit, in 2022.
She recalls that she stumbled upon the company as a sort of "happy accident", while scrolling through adverts online. Although she did know a little bit about computers, she wasn't actually going to apply initially - She thought "there's no way I can do a childhood hobby for a job" (spoiler alert - she most certainly could!)
Josefin says that she always found technology to be a "safe space" growing up; allowing her to be creative in ways she didn't know how to be in real life. Meeting new people, playing games and most of all - "tweaking" them... Just a bit! Just to help her win... once or twice. 😏
(Nothing illegal of course!) 🎮
Josefin joined Xenit as a Support Technician within our Service Desk. Her responsibilities were dispatching tickets, case handling, remote sessions and customer support over the phone. She really enjoyed the variety of customers, the range of issues (that she didn't even imagine were possible to have with your computer before this) and the talented colleagues that she was able to work with.
She soon took a couple of different certifications (AZ-900, SC-900, MS-900 and ITIL-4) and gained a fundamental understanding of the tech area.
With this learning, as well as many technical discussions/collaborations she started to feel that her passion might lie within Virtualization and Infrastructure as Code.

Josefin began working closely with David (Specialist Engineer in Workspace) who soon became her mentor - Helping her to learn more about Virtualization.
Citrix, AVD, RDS, IGEL - you name it, he knew it; and Josefin tells us that he was and still is a great source of learning for her.
A little later on, Josefin was also given the opportunity to collaborate with ex-CTO of Xenit, (and current CTO of Co-native) Simon. Josefin reports that Simon is a one in a million talent, and is one of the reasons she became enticed by IaC.
They began working on a couple of projects together where Simon taught her about Docker, Terraform, Linux, Visual Studio Code, TypeScript, Prometheus, Ansible (the list goes on...)
Josefin is now working hard on her career development, and with a few more certifications, will take her next step to Service Expert within our Core IT Services department; sitting daily with the Workspace team and training to become an independent consultant.
Josefin, you are the embodiment of curiosity and drive, and we can't wait to see what you will achieve next 🚀

Josefin’s enthusiasm for learning and her drive to improve make her both a fantastic colleague, and mentee. She not only works efficiently, but creates a really positive and fun atmosphere. I'm really glad to have seen and been involved in her growth.

Working with Josefin has been an absolute privilege. Her hunger for knowledge, paired with her ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts is truly impressive. She has also shown remarkable growth in project planning, customer interactions, and communication. With the right support and challenges, there’s no limit to what she will achieve. Any team would be lucky to have her energy and dedication!

Xenit has been the perfect mix of work and genuine fun, for me - A combination of independent learning and team spirit that I wouldn't trade for anything else! Here, you are always able to challenge yourself, while safe in the knowledge that there are talented people to lean on if something feels difficult. There is a constant flow of information and creativity between colleagues.
